When Heaven Whispers

Our only lily bloomed the same day Lily’s story took flight. Talk about divine timing!

For months, we’ve been tending a mystery plant.
My sister Laura had picked up a handful of bulbs from Bunnings and tucked them into the soil.
Only one survived.

For the longest time, it looked like nothing more than a weed. But a few weeks before my book launch for The Vestige Agent, a bud began to form—and with it, a quiet suspicion of what might be waiting.

The morning of my book launch, I stepped onto the balcony … and there it was. In full bloom, as if it had been saving itself for that day.

A lily.

And here’s the wonder: my book is about a girl named Lily. After months of mystery, the plant revealed itself on Lily’s day.

Birds had pecked at the bud, leaving scars in its petals. It bent under their weight, then straightened again.
A storm came and bowed it low. Yet still it stands—tattered, radiant, resilient.
Just like Lily in my story.

I don’t believe in coincidences. God is tender with the details. This bloom felt like a quiet wink from heaven—a reminder that He sees, He cares, and He is in it with me.
